John and Lisa Carter was praying about God’s will for their lives and future ministry. God began to form in their hearts a vision for a church that would transcend all traditional barriers of age, race, culture, denomination, and locality. It would be a church built on the un-compromised teaching of the Bible, providing an atmosphere for a genuine experience with the Holy Spirit and authentic fellowship in their hearts a vision for a church that would transcend all traditional barriers of age, race, culture, denomination, and locality. Construction of a 44,000 square foot Worship Center began in September, 1996 and would house a sanctuary complete with a lobby, children’s ministry area, retail space, as well as accommodate ministry offices. Members contributed nearly $225,000 to purchase 88 acres of property on Taft Road only a year prior. Throughout 1996 and into 1997, membership grew to nearly 900 people, many driving over 30 miles to attend. The Discipleship Center was completed in 2006. This 43,000 square foot addition included spaces used for Prayer Ministry, Velocity Student Ministries, Elevate Kidz, and The Union and Abundant Life Institute.  Abundant Life Christian Center accept all Christians --regardless of denomination-- who embrace The Apostle’s Creed, have confessed personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe that His Atoning Work is the sole basis for their Eternal Salvation.
